Fly kite!

Kite it is! I made my maiden batch of layang-layang (literally means kite in malay) earlier today.

Layang-layang, aka lidah kucing (cat's tongue) or kuih UFO, is one of the many traditional snacks of my race.

Thanks to my aunt from Muar, for giving me tips!

Ps: It is somehow in my culture, ladies don't really write down recipes. The way they pass down the recipe is by ESTIMATION, always! My late maternal grandma, my paternal grandma, my mother, will go "this much", "one grip", "abiiiiit (which turn out to be many 'bits')"...

Oh well in works for me. And I think i'm on my way being of of those Malay ladies, and i'm proud of it!

The one who make sure I won't go hungry.

My grandmother.

It's been 2 weeks since she fell deep asleep, and united with my grandfather. Miss her so much.

The 'gem biscuit', she used to pack some for me, and tie it to my water bottle. Held my hand tight, crossed the road, till the school bus came. Never failed waving at each other.

Love her.

Raggaton maaaan....

As you can see from the picture, it's the colours of raggae!! All I wanted to do when I first see these cute bahulu was to scream "Yamaaaaan!"... But I was across the border in JB, Pandan City. It'll be too weird! Unless I'm still in Krabi, and everyone will shout "Yamaaan!" back at me and start dancing...

It taste great! Crispy on the outside, light on the inside.

FYI: I got RM1 discount because I was wearing a Bob Marley shirt, true story having difficulties digging out the last ringit.
